I’m a little fascinated by the new Batmobile because it’s an interesting mashup design. It’s like a cross between the 90s, long-hood designs from the Tim Burton/Joel Schmacher movies crossed with the tank element of Christopher Nolan’s Tumbler from the The Dark Knight trilogy. DC All Access caught up with the man behind the new Batmobile, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production designer Patrick Tatopoulos, who explained his thinking on Batman’s iconic vehicle. He reveals that it took five months to build two cars, and that it was surprisingly hard to find tires for it. The tires they finally managed to find were from Israel and they’re used on farming trucks. Those tires were then shaved and re-sculpted to fit the car.
